Alpaca

In the petting zoo area of the zoo, a gentle alpaca named Luna is a favorite among visitors, especially children. With her soft, fluffy coat and curious personality, Luna offers a hands-on connection to the animal kingdom. Alpacas like Luna are domesticated relatives of the wild vicuña and are known for their valuable wool, which is used to make soft and warm textiles.
Luna’s enclosure replicates the high-altitude grasslands of the Andes, with plenty of space to graze and play. She often interacts with visitors during supervised feeding sessions, eagerly nibbling on hay or carrots offered by small hands. Luna’s calm demeanor and inquisitive nature make her an excellent ambassador for teaching about sustainable farming practices and the relationship between humans and domesticated animals in her native region.
