Black Rhinoceros

A rare and majestic Western black rhino named Kibo lives in the zoo’s African savanna exhibit. Once thought extinct, Kibo’s lineage represents a success story in species revival through breeding programs. Kibo spends his days roaming his spacious habitat, wallowing in mud to cool off, and grazing on specially curated vegetation. The zoo has invested heavily in educating visitors about the threats rhinos face from poaching and habitat loss, using Kibo’s story to inspire conservation action.
